Gutter cleaning for Knoxville-area homes and cabins

Gutters hand-cleaned, downspouts flushed and tested, and a straight note on anything that's starting to fail.

Short answer: most East Tennessee homes with trees need gutters cleaned twice a year — once after the leaves are down in late November or early December, and once in spring after pollen, tassels and seeds fall.

What's included

  • Debris removed by hand from every gutter run and bagged — not blown into your beds
  • Each downspout flushed with water; clogs cleared
  • A quick check of hangers, corners, pitch and fascia
  • Roof edge and valleys cleared of loose debris where safely reachable
  • A short written note on anything that needs attention

When to schedule in East Tennessee

Late fall: in the valleys, most oaks and maples finish dropping around late November into early December. Cleaning in October usually means doing it twice. At higher elevations in Sevier County, leaves come down earlier.

Spring: April and May bring oak tassels, maple helicopters, poplar seeds and a coat of yellow pine pollen that turns to sludge in the gutter.

Homes under heavy pines, or cabins in the woods, may need a third mid-summer visit — or gutter guards.

Should you do it yourself?

Honestly, if it's a one-story house and you're comfortable on a ladder, it's a reasonable DIY job. Two stories, steep pitches, cabins on slopes and anything above a deck or driveway is where falls happen. That's what to hire out.

Rental cabins and second homes

Overflowing gutters dump onto decks, hot tubs and entry steps — the first thing guests see. We schedule around turnover days and send photos so owners and property managers who aren't on site can see the work.

When cleaning isn't the fix

If you're paying for cleaning two or three times a year, gutter guards often pay for themselves within a few years. And if gutters overflow even right after a cleaning, the problem is size, pitch or downspouts — see gutter repair.

Common questions

How much does gutter cleaning cost?

It depends on footage, story height and how full the gutters are. Many single-story homes fall around $120–$200 and two-story homes around $180–$350.

Do you clean gutters that have guards?

Yes. We brush the tops clean and, where the guards are removable, check underneath.

Do I need to be home?

No. As long as we can reach the house and there's no locked gate, we can do the work and send you photos.
