We serve all of Sevier County, including Seymour, Kodak, Sevierville, Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, Wears Valley, Pittman Center and Cosby-side communities, for homes, cabins and short-term rentals.
Metal roofs and sliding snow
Many Sevier County cabins have steep metal roofs. Metal sheds water fast — much faster than shingles — so gutters need to be bigger to catch it. And when snow builds up on the higher-elevation roofs in Gatlinburg and Wears Valley, it can slide off all at once and tear a gutter straight off the fascia.
For metal-roof cabins we typically recommend 6-inch gutters in heavier .032 aluminum, hangers spaced tighter than normal, and gutters set low enough that sliding snow clears them. On some roofs, snow guards on the roof itself are the right companion.
White pines and mountain debris
From Seymour up through Wears Valley and Gatlinburg, white pine needles are the main problem. They pass through screens and perforated covers and mat into a dense layer that holds water. Stainless micro-mesh is the only guard type that reliably keeps them out. See gutter guards.
Rental cabins: different priorities
For short-term rentals, the gutter question is really about guest experience and avoiding damage you don't see until it's expensive:
- Overflow lands on decks, hot tub covers and entry stairs
- Water sitting against log or wood siding causes rot and staining
- Cleaning has to fit around turnover days
We schedule around bookings, work with property managers, and send photos when owners aren't local. Read gutters for Smoky Mountain cabins for the full picture.
Access
Steep gravel drives, decks over drop-offs and roofs three stories up on the downhill side are normal here. We plan for access at the estimate so install day goes smoothly, and quote the real job up front.
Seymour and Kodak
Closer to Knoxville, Seymour and Kodak are mostly conventional homes and subdivisions — standard seamless installs, upgrades from builder gutters, and drainage on sloped lots, same as you'd find in Knox or Blount.
Common questions
Do you work on short-term rental cabins?
Yes. We schedule around guest turnovers, coordinate with property managers and send photos to owners who aren't nearby.
What gutters are best for a metal roof cabin?
Usually 6-inch seamless aluminum in .032 gauge with tight hanger spacing, placed so sliding snow clears the gutter, plus micro-mesh guards if there are pines nearby.
Can you reach cabins on steep lots?
Yes. Access is part of the estimate, so the price you get reflects the real job.
